Cozy Calm Blankets...APPROVED!

We just wanted to share this VERY exciting news with everyone... We received our very first prior authorization APPROVAL for a Cozy Calm Blanket for one of our patients. We are so excited to know that there is actually hope to get these blankets approved and 100% covered through insurance. We'll be honest, we had our doubts that the insurance company would actually approve it, but we received our proof, in black and white, just this week! 

What does this mean? First off, let me be clear, this is NOT a guarantee that all insurance companies will always pay for a Cozy Calm blanket for you or your child. What it does mean is that there is a very real possibility that they will. It means that if you send us a prescription and letter of medical necessity from your doctor, we will gladly send the application in to apply for prior authorization. And if it's approved, it means your child can have their very own Cozy Calm blanket at  home! 

We've heard from lots of parents raving about how well their children are doing with these blankets in school or at day care. So why wouldn't you want to have one at home? 

We first blogged about these blankets back in March... and we didn't really hear too  much more after that. We knew from the start how amazing these blankets were, especially for autistic children. But we were skeptical that the insurance companies would agree on their value. So we were thrilled when we received the authorization approval this week from the insurance company (not to mention they sent the authorization the same day we applied!). More than anything, we're so  happy to know that these families are able to reap the benefits and impact that come from something so simple as a Cozy Calm blanket.
